Where Ideas Come To Die

What's Wrong With RSS 1.0?

Dave Winer calls MT's RSS funky. Mark wants to help create a new standard. I ask what's wrong with RSS 1.0?

It's extensible. It's verbose and semantic and all that jazz. Apparently it's the RDF. I don't grok RDf 100% but in the scope of RSS 1.0 I get it and it's very nice and simple to get, hell I figured it out.

So what's wrong with RSS 1.0? Why all the talk of RSS 2.0 when it really offered nothing new. It's RSS 1.0 without the RDF bloat but namespaces make it “funky!” So why not go to RSS 1.0, it's beckoning.
