Where Ideas Come To Die
Why Podcasts?
Podcast: A recording of audio content from websites for consumers, who typically listen to it on their iPod (hence the "pod"), or another audio player that supports the MP3 format, at their convenience.
Or if you want a better definition of Podcast it's what egotistical people do to make themselves feel better about their lame weblog by forcing* their voice upon other people.
Podcasts are audio weblog entries that remove all of the unique things about the text format of weblogs that make them superior to linear communication techniques, such as audio.
You can't quickly skim a podcast looking for the meat of the article or seeing if the article is worth reading at all. Podcasts have to be downloaded, with sizes in megabytes, compared to kilobytes for standard weblogs.
I hope podcasts will die, they serve no point. Weblogging was supposed to be a revolution, but now it's radio.
*Yes I know you have to subscribe to podcasts however the people that started podcasts are some of the biggest names in non-political weblogging and tend to start trends while their content tends to be mediocre.
